So ive been looking into adverts for clothing, starting with video and moving image. There are so many brands producing and advertising so many different clothes, the adverts are the selling point. They influence us, change our minds and make us want the product, if advertised correctly. Here are a few examples of advertisements starting with a very well known one made with the legend that is John Hegarty, Levis 808's 'Stonewashed' Jeans.
Now to Fatface, who create adverts showing there seasonal clothing, through people taking part in group activities and having a brilliant time in the winter weather.
Dickies have used plain clothing based on a plain background using stop animation to create a simple advert which shows there clothing for children going to school and associated activities.
Back to Levis now who in 2007 created an advert for their flexible clothes that give you the "freedom to move". Running through walls and up trees they had a brilliant campaign which most defiantly caught the attention of their target audience.
Vans are a brand who like Billabong and Quicksilver use a pro team or pro athletes to promote their ranges by sponsoring such people. Here is an ad that shows Geoff Rowley skating in Vans for Vans.
Tesco released their own branded clothing range a few years back called F & F (Fred and Florence) This has therefor sparked a range of adverts for the company. Here is one which uses the same person to walk over themselves in a busy train station in which they change clothes each time they over take.
Here is another brilliant example of how a company will used pro athletes. This is for Billabong, using snow sports to promote their brand and link off to the website where people can find out more information.
Finally Quicksilver, who in 2008 used this branding campaign for their new product line. Showing a group of young people travelling and experiencing new things whilst waring their clothes for the Spring product line 08. Quiksilver used these commercials for Broadcast TV, web, blog and DVD distribution.
Here are a few more links for companies and their video advertisements, again some are very clever and innovative and others not to much.
